He has been involved in the promotion of Bamboo for its social, ecological industrial, and economic benefits during his career and is an expert in the management of bamboo forests, raising bamboo plantations, bamboo Agro-Forestry, marketing, and utilization.

Shri A. C. Keshavamurthy, IFS (Retd.), former Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Karnataka, has extensive experience in the bamboo sector, having served as Project Director, National Bamboo Mission in the Karnataka Forest Department. He has also held key leadership positions as Project Coordinator in the Watershed Development Department, CEO, Zilla Parishad under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, and Managing Director & CEO, Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited under the Industries and Commerce Department, bringing vast administrative and technical expertise across sectors

Dr. Syam Viswanath served for 31 years as a forestry scientist with the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), MoEF & CC, Government of India, and has been actively engaged in agroforestry and conservation issues in India. He has authored over 140 publications, including 12 books, with a strong emphasis on bamboo research (around 50 papers and 8 books). His work has received more than 1,265 citations on Google Scholar and Research Gate as of 25 January 2025and he has an i10-index.
