The subject was to Study the Impact of Environmental, edaphic factors on the behaviour of two endemic species of Bamboo in Northern Western Ghats. Dr Hemant Bedekar in the early days after post-graduation worked in the teaching field for 3 years, Agricultural research for 5 years, and 24 years incorporates as a horticulturist. Retired from Reliance Industries as a Chief Horticulturist of Reliance Industries in 2007. Specialised in tree transplanting, till today transplanted almost 22000 trees of age 5-60 years and of almost 70 SPS.

Visited several countries like Taiwan, Thailand, Israel and China for his studies in Tomato breeding, Mushroom cultivation and Bamboo cultivation and utilisation. Attended various national and international seminars and workshops on Bamboo.

Contributed to 10 research papers and around 50+ articles. Written a book on Bamboo Cultivation for industrial utilisation in Marathi. Delivered more than 500 lectures on Bamboo, Vegetables and general agriculture in Marathi, Hindi and English. Associated with INBAR and World Bamboo Organisation. Attended World Bamboo Congress in Thailand.

Dr. Medha Joshi is a doctorate in Biotechnology (Plant Tissue Culture), from NCL, Pune. She has hands-on experience with various Tissue Culture techniques of several plant species. A particular mention of woody species like Bamboo and Neem. She is actively involved in manufacturing technologies of biofertilizers, sustainable agriculture and organic farming through her Company, Supadmaa Organics Pvt Ltd. She is actively involved in promoting soil health and plant nutrition since 2003. She is involved in collaborative projects for Bamboo, from plantation to end product industry.

Ar. Megha Panchariya is a practising architect for the last 12years and she is also in the teaching profession for the last 5years. Bamboo is a very sustainable building material and that's why she thinks that students of Architecture should know bamboo as a building material. For the same reason, she is very active in curriculum framing for the students of Architecture which will teach them regarding bamboo and its applications. She drafted the syllabus of Elective - Contemporary Bamboo Architecture for VNIT, Nagpur.

After working for 9 years in the field of biodiversity conservation and livelihood generation I decided to work in the field of bamboo since bamboo provides livelihood options to a major part of the community throughout the world. I have around 12 acres of area under bamboo cultivation and nursery (or bamboo mother plant conservation and for propagation activity). We also create bamboo handicrafts items like handmade bamboo jewellery and bamboo lamps.
Our aim is to create truthful and quality Bamboo Planting material and to support the movement of bamboo artisans.

Ar. Arun I. Wandre is an Agricultural graduate with 22 years of experience in Agriculture cultivation and management practices. Horticulture, Natural farming, Dairy Farming & Agro-Forestry. Pioneer to introduce Bambusa balcoa TC species in Maharashtra year 2009. Commercial bamboo plantations experience last 12 years. Maharashtra’s first commercial bamboo farm was established in the year 2012 about 70 acres of the farm planted, cultivated and harvested for bamboo biomass thermal power plant in Gadchiroli district. Having own bamboo plantation at village Kanur (Bk), Taluka Chandgad, Dist. Kolhapur has about 30 bamboo species collections preserved since the year 2007.Conducted trails for bamboo biomass field harvesting, sourcing & utilizing as fuel for power plant. Set of own exclusive bamboo nursery area 15000 Sq.ft. at Kolhapur. More than 15 species of nursery plants are available for sale. Representing firm M/s Ishwar Agri-Business & Energy Solutions. About 8 laces bamboo plants are distributed in Maharashtra & the other six states. Offer state of art field service in executing commercial bamboo plantation site selection, survey & designing, Agronomical consultancy cutting and harvesting with the supply chain. About1000 farmers are cultivating bamboo as a crop. Bamboo plantation consultant to NGOs. Co-operatives, corporate sector.

Vinay Kolte engineer by education is working in the field of bamboo propagation and plantation since 2014. He has conducted many workshops regarding good bamboo nurseries and plantation practices for farmers of Maharashtra and other states also. The Bamboo Nursery, Bhor where he guides farmers about proper species selection for bamboo farming based on agro-climatic zones and market segments.

Apart from working in the field of propagation and plantation, he also works in the primary processing of bamboos, with an aim to inculcate the SRM process mentality in farmers.

Mr Nilesh Misal is a post-graduate chemical Engineer.
