One Day Bamboo workshop on nursery and plantation practices at Hinganghat, Warda District, Maharastra

On the 22nd Dec 19, Bamboo Society of India,  Maharashtra Chapter organized One Day Workshop at the 50-acre nursery of one of our members Mr. Shashank Khandre in Hinganghat Tahasil, Dist Wardha.

Taking into consideration the fact that many of the farmers are unaware of the basics of bamboo resources and also plantation. Therefore BSI MC decided to hold a workshop on Bamboo Nursery & Plantation where around 109 beneficiaries from MP, CG, MS (Dists of Nagpur, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nanded, etc) participate and the workshop was concluded with a visit to Bamboo Nursery of Mr. Shubhank Khandre, who along with his father & brother arranged for everything including pandal, welcome Tea & Breakfast & Lunch, etc.
 
The workshop was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Kalyankar, VC, Gondwana University and Chairman BSI MC explained the need of such workshop and BSI MC expert members viz Dr. Lal Singh (NEERI), Dr. Ilorkar (PDKV), Dr. Hemant Bedekar (Exe Director, BSI MC)
 
Shri Vinay Kolte (Bamboo Expert), Syed Salim (bamboo expert) made a presentation to the appreciation of the audience.
 
Shri Digambar Khandre spoke on the occasion unfolding the success story behind his Snehal Kisan Nursery to the audience and Shri Umesh Ninawe, BSI member, compared the program.
 

All participants were very happy and expected such types of field visit program to be held where such nursery, plantation & peaceful environment exist rather than close door conference halls.
 
It was decided and declared by BSI MC that it would in near future conduct ‘Bamboo Abhyas Yatra’, a  A Day Long Study Tour, visiting  bamboo plantation sites and Nursery nearby.
